How Bootcamp Connect uses your information

Last updated: [date]

Who we are

Bootcamp Connect is run by [Jenny Shen / business name]. We are responsible for your information (the "data controller").

Questions or requests: [contact email].

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we get your name, email address, Google account ID and Google profile photo. We use the photo as your starting profile photo. You can change or remove it at any time.

When you sign up, we save your track (Software Developer or Business Developer) and when you agreed to our terms.

When you fill in your profile, we save what you enter: headline, location, about you, links, work experience, skills, projects, what you're looking for and your photo.

When you sign in, our database provider records the time, your IP address and your browser to keep accounts secure.

Please don't put sensitive details in your profile, such as health, religion or political views.

Why we use it

We don't sell your information, show you adverts, or use it to train AI.

Who can see it

In this early version, only you can see your profile. Other members can't. We'll tell you before that changes.

We use these companies to run the service:

These companies are based outside the UK, so their staff may sometimes access your information from abroad, for example to fix a problem. When they do, the law requires them to protect it to UK standards. [Owner to check the details in Supabase's and Google's data processing agreements.]

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account.

Your rights

You can:

For anything you can't do in the app, email [contact email]. We'll reply within one month.

Information stored on your device

The app keeps you signed in using your browser's storage. It also keeps your posts and messages on your device, because in this early version they aren't sent to our servers. Logging out or deleting your account removes them from the device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Age

You must be 18 or over to use Bootcamp Connect.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we use your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes

We'll update this page when anything changes, and tell you about important changes when you next sign in.
